Registrants

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Field Hockey Alberta (FHA) members voted to adopt a new set of bylaws at the 2023 Annual General Meeting. These bylaws came into effect on September 1, 2024.

The most noticeable change is the role of individuals within the Society.  Individuals are no longer voting members, and are now defined as Registrants.
More information on Members can be found here: Membership Guide

The following information has been compiled from the FHA bylaws as a guide to the new governance structure specifically as it pertains to the individual as a registrant.

REGISTRANTS

FHA has several categories of Registrants, who are not Members, but who must register with the Society and pay any fees as determined by the FHA Board of Directors prior to any participation. All individuals must also register with Field Hockey Canada and pay any applicable fees.

Registrant Categories: The Board will determine and define the categories of Registrant by Ordinary Resolution each year, together with any applicable fee. The categories will include, without limitation, individuals such as Senior Players, Junior Players, Officials, Coaches and volunteers. Other potential categories could include honorary, affiliate and associate.

Note: current registrant categories include: Senior, Junior (18 to 13), Youth (12 and under), Coach, Official, Affiliate.

Registrant Term: The registration term of Registrants will be from the date of registration until the end of that registration year. Every Registrant, regardless of category, must register each year.

Note: Current registration year runs from September 1 to August 31

Registrant Fees: Registrant fees will be determined annually by the Board.  The most recent fees can be found here: Link to fees page

Note: Registrants will be notified in writing of the fees payable, and if they are not paid within sixty (60) days of a date specified by the Board, the Registrant in default will automatically cease to be a Registrant
