PACK YOUR BAGS! WE'RE GOING TO CAL CUP!
We are thrilled to announce the exciting opportunity for our athletes to compete in the 2025 Cal Cup Tournament in Moorpark, California, from May 23-26, 2025! This prestigious tournament, held each Memorial Day weekend, has been a beloved event for 53 years, attracting players from ages 8 to over 65. At its highest level, the Super division showcases Olympic and international-caliber men’s and women’s athletes, offering an incredible chance to witness top-tier field hockey.
Why Attend Cal Cup?
We’re excited to send a contingent of Alberta teams to this exciting event! This is a unique opportunity for athletes to experience competition beyond our borders, challenge their skills, and create lifelong memories. While in the past we’ve focused our travel tournaments more on U18 High performance groups, we’re opening this up to younger CJFH grassroots athletes, so they too can take part in one of the premier field hockey tournaments of the year and gain valuable tournament hockey experience.
Event Details:
- Tournament Dates: May 23-26, 2025
- Location: Moorpark, California
- Estimated Cost: $1,800 CAD per athlete*
- Includes: flight, hotel, tournament fees, meals, transportation, and pre-
tournament training sessions. - Age Groups:
- U12 Coed 7v7 (born August 1, 2012 to July 31, 2014)
- U14 Female 7v7 (born August 1, 2010 to July 31, 2012)
- U14 Male 5v5 (born August 1, 2010 to July 31, 2012)
*We will be working hard to trim down costs in the lead-up to the tournament and will be organizing fundraising efforts to help offset the expenses.
