Fall 2024 Funstix U8-U10 and U12 Programs
FUNSTIX U8 + U10 CO-ED OUTDOOR PROGRAM FALL 2024
For children born January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2017. Athletes born in 2018 with previous experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
Newcomers welcome! Participants are introduced to fundamental movements in order to develop and discover physical literacy, confidence, fun and build a love for field hockey. Focus will be on ball control, passing, receiving, shooting, tackling. Includes weekday practice and Sunday Mini League.
PRACTICES: Two Locations to choose from
- NORTH - Mondays at UC Hawkings Turf (3876 Warren St NW)
- Sept 9 - Oct 21, 2024,6:00pm - 7:30pm
- No practices Thanksgiving Day
- SOUTH - Tuesdays at Calgary Soccer Centre (7000 48 Street SE)
- Sept 3 - Sept 24, 2024, 5:15 - 6:45pm
- Oct 1, 2024, 4:45-6:15pm
- Oct 8-29, 2024, 4:45-5:45
GAMES: Sundays at UofC Hawkings Turf, No games Thanksgiving long weekend. League Schedule: Click here
FESTIVAL: Calgary Fall Festival (Sunday Oct 27, 2024 at the Cavalry Field House)
EQUIPMENT: Athletes must provide their own mouth guard and shin pads
STICKS: Sticks may be borrowed (with security deposit) or purchased by contacting league@fieldhockey.ab.ca.
FHA MEMBERSHIP: If you don't already have a current 2024/25 membership, you will be required to purchase one at registration.

U12 CO-ED OUTDOOR PROGRAM SPRING 2023
For athletes born January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2013
Newcomers Welcome - no experience necessary!
This program will continue to develop outdoor field hockey skills, goalie skills and introduce tactical concepts such as field positioning, team play, and offensive/defensive strategy. Teams will play 2 Sunday games that are 30 minutes long, 5 versus 5 format. Athletes will participate in weekly practice and Sunday CJFH U12 Co-Ed League.
