FHA Provincial teams and the high performance program
FHA is looking for athletes from different age category for the provincial team. Ultimately, around 50 boys and 50 girls are selected who follow the high performance program to further develop their hockey skills. The goal of the provincial teams is to improve players and to prepare players for a higher level. We are committed to implementing a quality-training environment, which fosters excellence, growth, education and support for all participants. In doing so, we also increase and stimulate the youth hockey level at the clubs and communities.
The high performance program is currently divided in to 4 teams :
*Reference date age groups: Jan 1st
The season 2018-2019 will be divided in to 3 programs that will work to get the best out of each individual athlete. For maximum development it’s ideal to participate in all three of the programs but it’s also optional to follow one or more programs separately
The FHA HPP only has space for a maximum of 25 athletes per group. This means if there are more than 25 players at tryouts for the program there will be a selection. The provincial team is an open selection, this means athletes may be added and removed during the entire program. Playing in a program does not guarantee a spot on the provincial team or any other programs although attendance in programs will be taken in consideration.
