LACOMBE FESTIVAL INFORMATION PAGE

The Lacombe Festival is a full-day, community-focused outdoor event filled with everything field hockey for grassroots athletes. Fun games and activities are planned throughout the day, ensuring plenty of play time. A concession will be open on-site.

DATE: Sunday, June 7, 2026
TIME: Games run from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
LOCATION: MEGlobal Athletic Park (5644 56 Ave, Lacombe, AB T4L 1N6)

PLEASE NOTE: Dogs are not allowed within the fenced-in turf area. Athletes should come prepared for a full day outside. If your club requires accommodations, it is highly recommended to book hotels in Red Deer or Lacombe immediately.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT & AGE GROUPS

Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 3 hours of turf time, including games and a shootout (for U12 and over).

Funstix / Mini Olympics: Tentative 11:30 AM arrival, 12:00 PM start.
U12 Coed: 5v5 format.
U16 Girls: 7v7 format (running two divisions, if numbers permit).
U16 Boys: Format TBD (featuring Saracens, United, and potentially others).

* Standard age group brackets apply from U08 to U19. Participants born in 2019 with prior experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

MASTER SCHEDULE & DRAWS

The final tournament draws, schedules, and tournament regulations will be distributed to clubs and posted by Friday, May 29, 2026 (or sooner).

VOLUNTEERS

This event relies on our community! A volunteer signup sheet is being distributed by our FHA summer students. We ask that a parent from each participating athlete selects a shift.

REGISTRATION & DEADLINES

DON'T HAVE A TEAM? No problem! You can register individually and we will place you on a team. Registration fee includes tournament play, shootout, and an FHA souvenir swag item.
COST: $25
NON-MEMBERS: Will be charged an additional FHA/FHC membership fee, valid through to August 31, 2026.

CRITICAL DEADLINES FOR CLUBS & COACHES:

Team Elections Deadline: May 14, 2026 (Past Due - Club Leads must confirm team counts immediately)
Final Roster Submission Deadline: May 23, 2026 (Past Due - Coaches must finalize rosters via TeamSnap or Google Poll immediately for snack and swag counts)
