This year the structure has been slightly modified by our resident High Performance Coach – Peter Taylor – in an effort to maximize the opportunity for success at the national championships and the outline is as follows:
1. The first four weeks (Provincial Introduction included) are designed in an academy format and aimed at developing the individual skill level of every athlete. They allow new athletes to access the program while training with athletes returning from previous years.
2. At the end of the June 25 the provincial teams will be selected.
3. The weeks from this point, leading up to the championships will be used for team development to get the teams ready to perform at their best. In the case of athletes not selected in the provincial teams, the academy style of training will continue to further develop their individual skill sets .
The selection process for the provincial teams competing in their respective National Championships will take place from the start of the program until June 25. This is to allow the coaches plenty of opportunity to see every athlete for an extended period of time.
*********Please Note : To be considered for selection, an athlete must be registered and paid in full for the summer program.
We strongly advise all athletes to be at as many training’s as possible. This will provide the coaches plenty of chances to see you perform. However, it is not mandatory to attend every scheduled training to be selected. All practices will be at the University of Calgary Field Hockey Turf unless otherwise posted or communicated.

Introduction to Provincial:
Interested in trying out the Provincial Program without committing to the full cost and season? Join us for the Introduction to Provincial Program (May 28th – June 7th Sessions). If athletes decide to continue with the program after June 7 the $80 fee that was paid will be subtracted off their academy training cost.
Program Academy Training Costs:
Introduction to Provincial: $80
U15 Girls $555
U15 Boys $615
U18 Girls $585
U18 Boys $645
U23 Boys $645
Athletes that are named to the Provincial team will have a travel levy to cover the costs to attend the 2017 National Championships in Surrey, BC.
Travel levy $1,200 maximum – We are still working on travel and accommodation. We will do our best to make the travel expenses as cost effective as possible and hopefully have a travel levy that is well under the maximum.
