FHA has a new Executive Board!
At this year's AGM a new President was elected. Kim Ewasechko, a long time athlete, coach, and volunteer for FHA has stepped into the position. FHA is excited to see a passionate and experienced volunteer take over this role. We would like to thank Mike McCoy for his committment and dedication to our programns over the last few years as the President of FHA.

Field Hockey Alberta Operations
Field Hockey Alberta is a non-profit provincial sport organization (PSO). We operate based on funds from grants, donations, membership services fee & sponsorship. FHA provides field hockey programs for all ages, our major program is the provincial team program. Annually we run programs for U14, U16, U18 and the senior age groups for both men and women. Our executive board members are made up generally of parents and senior level athletes of our provincial team athletes. Each regional league within our association also have a position on the board to bridge the communication between associations.

Standing Committees
Field Hockey Alberta decision making process for various aspects related to our sport involves committees. According to FHA bylaws, we have five committees:

  1. Nominations (Officers of the Society, except the President, Senior Staff Member)
  2. Emergency (President, VP Finance, One VP from applicable portfolio, Staff member from applicable area)
  3. High Performance Development (President, VP High Performnce Men & Women, VP Coaching, Two senior head coaches, two player representatives from senior provincial squads, staff member from applicable area)
  4. Leadership Development (VP Coaching, VP Umpiring, two senior head coaches, two senior umpires, VP Regional Development, staff member from applicable area)
  5. Alberta Regions Development (VP Regional Development, VP Administration, All regional directors, staff members from applicable area)

FHA Bylaws
Field Hockey Alberta bylaws provide governence for our association. We follow the guidelines to provide a fair and equal environment for all members involved.

Upcoming Events
FHA is renewing a familiar tournament in 2010. We will be hosting the 1st Annual Alberta Cup, this year we will host a club championships for the first time in many years. FHA will also be hosting the 2010 Canada Cup, the premier U18 tournament in Canada.
