WINTER PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Winter 2019 High Performance Program will consist of three components: 1) indoor practices, 2) strength and conditioning training and 3) an optional tournament in BC.

Within a High Performance program players need to have a superior physical condition.  We would like to see the player’s progress in their fitness level. Two options are being offered for fitness training. Option A (one session per week) is intended for athletes that are already in peak physical condition such as multisport athletes. Athletes who are not in peak condition should participate in Option B (two sessions per week).

Athletes will have two weeks of mandatory tryouts prior to selection for the program. Once the Winter HP group is selected the schedule will be set up on TeamSnap. We will be confirming that we have the correct email addresses at registration on the first day of tryouts. Please arrive at least 20 minutes early to register. For each practice or strength and conditioning session, athletes will be expected to will mark their availability on TeamSnap and if they will be absent they must  communicate directly with their coach at least 24 hours in advance.

We understand athletes may have conflicts, but attendance is critical for your development and the development of the team. Please contact your coach if you anticipate missing 3 or more of the practices or 3 or more strength and conditioning sessions.

The HP Program is an open selection, this means athletes may be added and removed during the entire program. Playing in a program does not guarantee a spot on the provincial team or any other programs although attendance in programs will be taken in consideration.
