This program begins Saturday February 23rd. At the end of March, all attendees will be fully trained NCCP Community level coaches. You will have all the skills required to be able to coach Funstix or CJP beginners (U12)
COST: Free to all CJP and FHA High Performance junior athletes, with coaching commitment. FHA coaches are welcome to participate with priority given to junior athletes.
The NCCP Community Coach Program consists of three NCCP multisport modules, a two part Field Hockey specific Community Coaching Course, and Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification
NCCP MultiSport Module 1: Make Ethical Decisions
MED is one of the NCCP’s cornerstone workshops, and leaves coaches with no doubt as to what to do when the going gets tough. Delivered by an Alberta Sport professional, this three and a half hour module will fully equip coaches to handle ethical situations with confidence and surety. MED training helps coaches identify the legal, ethical, and moral implications of difficult situations that present themselves in the world of team and individual sport.

NCCP MultiSport Module 2: Make Headway in Sports
Part of the NCCP Community Coaching Pathway, intended for junior coaches registered in the CJP Junior Coaching Program, Making Headway is a 3 hour internet delivered workshop, facilitated by the CJP administration.

NCCP MultiSport Module 3: Fundamental Movement Skills
The Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) of throwing, catching, jumping, striking, running, kicking, agility, and balance and coordination, form the basis for future sport skill development and for the life-long enjoyment of physical activity. Learn how to observe and improve the fundamental movement skills through a five hour workshop delivered by Alberta Sport learning experts

Field Hockey Community Coaching Course
You may already coach at the community level or you’re thinking about coaching. Often, you’re a parent whose child is involved in sport, a volunteer who works with participants of all ages that are new to a sport, or a junior athlete looking to give back to their community.

Emergency First Aid and CPR
Sponsored by Calgary Junior Program, this First Aid Course will prepare participants to properly react, assess and act in emergency situations. This six hour workshop is delivered by certified instructor, Tanya Unger
