FHA would like to thank the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks & Wildlife Foundation for their continued support of our programming. Specifically the Canada Sport 4 Life Grant program and funding we received in 2009 to help make these programs possible!

Field Hockey Alberta is proud to announce two new programs in the city of Edmonton for kids 5 & 6 Years old.  We are now offering five week programs out of the Ridgewood Community (MillWoods) & The Lessard Community (West End). Links for each program are on the left side column.

COME TRY FIELD HOCKEY - STARTING 2010

Field hockey is a game that combines the fitness of soccer and the finesse of ice hockey!!

This program is for

When, where and cost of the program?

  1. Starting in June (5 weeks) - Wednesday nights 6-7pm (June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30th)
  2. Location - Ridgewood outdoor Ice Rink
  3. Cost - $65.00 - plus a valid community league membership

You must be a community league member to participate in this program!!

What does my child need to participate?

  1. Soccer Shin Pads & a mouth guard (for scrimmages/games)
  2. A parent/ guardian for each session or an adult responsible for that child.

What does my child get out of the program and fee?

  1. Each participant will receive a jersey, socks, & mouth guard to keep
  2. Each session will be ran by qualified field hockey coaches and instructors
  3. Each session will consist of drills and skills through fun exciting games
  4. Each session will include the CS4L- Canada Sport For Life principles for this age group. (Promoting physical literacy skills- (Agility, Balance, Coordination, Run, Jump, Throw) Visit: http://www.canadiansportforlife.ca  **these skills are important for all sports! Check it out!
  5. Scrimmages/Games will consist of a 5vs5 format with a goalie or 4vs4 without a goalie for U6, U8, U10 programs.
  6. All sticks, balls and equipment necessary for the program will be provided to use during each session.

  1. Fees can be paid by cash or cheque! April 7th 6:30-8:30pm & April 28th 6:30-8:30pm at the Ridgewood hall.  Prior to those dates in April you may register by printing off the form from www.fieldhockey.ab.ca  and sending it in with your fees to Field Hockey Alberta- Ridgewood Program #101 16220 Stony Plain Rd Edmonton, Ab, T5P4A4.

Upcoming Events
FHA is renewing a familiar tournament in 2010. We will be hosting the 1st Annual Alberta Cup, this year we will host a club championships for the first time in many years. FHA will also be hosting the 2010 Canada Cup, the premier U18 tournament in Canada.
