Spring Programs 2010
2010 Edmonton Spring & Summer Program registration is now available and OPEN! U6, U8, U10, U12, U14 programs are available for both boys and girls. Join us as we run through exciting drills and games each week in the months of May, June & July. Field Hockey Alberta is proud to announce two new programs in the city of Edmonton for kids 5 & 6 Years old. We are now offering five week programs out of the Ridgewood Community (MillWoods) & The Lessard Community (West End). For details please click on the Spring 2010 on the left side column.
Indoor Programs 2009 - 2010
FHA EJP programs for the indoor season for 2009/2010, includes under 6, under 8, under 10 and under 12 programs. All experiences welcome, if you have never picked up a stick, this is a great way to start something new and exciting!! Indoor hockey is a sport combining the fitness of soccer and the finesse of ice hockey, very similar to indoor soccer and ice hockey, with just 6 players on the court at a time, including 1 goal keeper. All programs are introductory for beginners and experienced players alike. Fun and learning atmosphere is promoted by our coaches and parents involved within the program while incorporating skill development and during modified games. Come join the fun!!
For all programs soccer shin pads and a mouth guard are mandatory to participate and to be covered under insurance. All other equipment (sticks/balls/goalie equipment) will be provided at each session.

Edmonton Schools Membership Program
Field Hockey Alberta pleased to announce the new Edmonton Schools program. The schools program is aimed at introducing the sport of field hockey, the second largest team sport in the world, to elementary and Jr. High school children. The program will introduce both the indoor & outdoor game that is played internationally around the world. What is the Schools Program? This structured program will introduce children to basic field hockey skills through a school clinic and will promote the importance and excitement of playing as part of a team. The program is targeted at children in Grades 4, 5 & 6 (Elementary level) and 7,8 & 9 (Jr. High level). The Program promotes health and exercise in a fun, safe and controlled environment. It also introduces children to a new and growing sport in Edmonton and Alberta.
The culmination of the Program is a Full-day Field Hockey Festival in the months of May or June. This event will feature all the schools involved in the program with a boys and a girl’s team playing small games against each other.

Prairie Youth Games
The Prairie Youth Games are a semi-competitive program for younger athletes. This program focuses on skill development through practice sessions leading up to the summer tournament in which athletes from Alberta compete against teams from Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Athletes compete in the annual PYG tournament that alternates each year from Winnipeg, Calgary or Edmonton, and Regina. Athletes from all provinces compete in a fun festival format and have a fun social event during the tournament.
